This punk rock Eagle Scout merges environmental stewardship with live entertainment. From performing at Coachella to founding The Trash Punx, San José’s leading creek cleanup group, his journey is all about creativity and community impact.

TJ Lauters | Vice President & Secretary
South Bay native TJ takes pride in his community. Growing up, he biked along creeks and played street hockey in local parks. Seeing illegal dumping rise, he took action to create a safe, clean space for his son. After meeting Justin at Great America, they’ve backed each other ever since. At Trash Punx events, TJ enjoys connecting with volunteers and ensuring a fun, safe experience for all.

Vanessa Rogier | CFO & Conservation Manager
A lifelong conservationist, Vanessa grew up in remote natural environments, sparking her passion for wildlife and the planet. As a Bay Area Conservation Director for 25 years, she led global programs to protect endangered species. Joining The Trash Punx was a natural fit, aligning with her mission to give back and protect the Earth.

Heather Bedy | Board Member
Heather’s grandmother instilled in her a love for sustainability by reusing everything. In 2014, that early influence sparked a zero-waste journey. Ever since, she’s been committed to recycling hard-to-recycle items, reducing her carbon footprint, and promoting a circular economy. Along the way, she found like-minded changemakers and is proud to be part of The Trash Punx team!
Andre Meggerson | Board Member
Born and raised in San Jose, Andre is passionate about giving back to his community. When he’s not cleaning up trash, he’s dancing, drumming, or showcasing his skills as one of California’s fastest crocheters. Beyond his physical strength, Andre’s kindness shines through his words and actions, reflecting his deep love for people and the environment.
Derik Vo | Board Member
If you’ve attended a Trash Punx event, you’ve likely seen Derik dancing and waving the flags! As one of the first volunteers, he joined in 2017, starting with a cleanup in San Jose’s Alum Rock neighborhood after the devastating floods. Ever since, he’s been a dedicated team member and now plays a vital role as The Trash Punx’s data analyst.
